Training
The backbone of any training program – the long weekend run / walk. Our Sunday sessions are very
popular and we have had up to 55 runners and 24 walkers.
The runner’s route is organised, in the sense that a vehicle travels with the group and provides water,
coke and Powerade refreshment every 3 km. Every week we travel in a different direction and there are
very few roads in our area not run. All runners are welcome, even if you belong to another club. Bring
your running partners with you. The car travels at the pace of the slowest runner. We have started a
Saturday session and run from Garage to Garage. Contact our Club Captain Freddie – 012 662 0167 H,
012-426 8785 W or 083 347 5040. Saturday’s session is organized by myself.
Our weekend walkers, what do I say, they are a spirited lot and keep the Magnolia flag flying high. The
group consists of both male and female, from the average to top walkers and runners returning from
injury. All are welcome. Contact our Walkers Captain Jen – 012 452 8728 or 082 563 1803.
These sessions are not to be missed and what better way to train in the security of a BIG group.

your times or ability.
